OVERVIEW:

The City of Rapid City has engaged Aviation Management Consulting Group (AMCG) to review and revise the Primary Guiding Documents for Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP).  This review and revision project will apply to the current Minimum Standards and Rules and Regulations.

As part of the process, we sought input from a variety of sources to help us learn more about the aviation businesses currently operating at the Airport and the dynamics of the RAP marketplace.  To this end, AMCG contacted all known aviation businesses at the Airport to compile information about the products, services, and facilities currently being offered.  This is an essential step in the revision process.

This website is intended to provide interested parties with an overview of the project. It will be updated periodically to reflect the status of the project and convey other pertinent information. Request for Information

Information about Rapid City Regional Airport was gathered from Airport management and staff, and from airport tenants via a Commercial Operator Survey. (Click to go to surveys)

Kick-off Meeting and Interviews

Throughout this process, there will be opportunities to interact with the City and AMCG.  Representatives of AMCG visited the airport on June 29 and 30, 2006 to meet with Airport management and staff as well as select Airport tenants and other interested parties (stakeholders), in order to educate and inform them about Rules and Regulations and Minimum Standards and the revision process.  This was also an opportunity gather additional information/data that is essential to the development of the documents.  Another on-site working session was held on October 4 and 5, 2006 during which document modifications and revisions took place.

On July 9, 2007, a public comment/work session was held to review comments provided from the initial comment period.  A link to the entire list of comments (received prior to July 9, 2007) and responses are listed below.
